How to play
1. Download and print answer sheets and Black Spot cards from the Quiz Kit page, or get hold of the Quiz Kit book from Amazon.
2. Each player or team gets one Black Spot card to play in the quiz. You can play your Black Spot on any round, which will allow you to claim double points for every correct answer in that specific round.
3. You must declare that you wish to play your Black Spot before the first question in that particular round is asked. Just to be fair.
4. Grab a pen, some friends and maybe a drink or two - unless you're driving to work, in which case make those drinks coffee and orange juice.
5. Play whichever Quizbeard episode you like, either the latest or one from the archive. You can listen in your browser or download the quiz from all leading podcast apps. Don't forget to have a little chair-dance to the music. If you have an Amazon Echo, I apologise. I cannot - for the life of me - get Alexa to play this thing.
6. Make a mental note of the subjects of each round as they are announced at the beginning and think about when to play your Black Spot. Be strategic and clever like a chess grandmaster or Data from Star Trek.
7. Answer the 25 questions to the best of your ability and then mark your answer sheet, remembering to award double points for your Black Spot round.
8. Report your score to one of my social media channels, remembering to be as honest as possible. Photos of answer sheets are good. Photos of a drunken mass of eejits is better. If you can, use the hashtag #quizbeard - it's obscure enough to be pertinent only to this.
9. Subscribe to Quizbeard via any podcast app you see fit, and follow me wherever I surface (social media links below, wink wink).
10. Enjoy the rest of your day secure in the knowledge that you've given your mind a thorough, if context-free, workout.
